Highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for significant contribution to U.S. exports
Boston, MA, 16 May, 2016
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today presented Ed Marsh, Founder of Consilium Global Business Advisors, LLC with the President's "E" Award for Export Service at a ceremony in Washington, DC. The President's "E" Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
"Consilium impressed the "E" Awards committee with a variety of customized services to advance market entry for clients. Ed's broad-based advocacy on trade issues was also particularly notable, and his achievements have undoubtedly contributed to the national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs," said Secretary Pritzker in her congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection as an award recipient.
Consilium Global Business Advisors, LLC works with B2B clients to implement strategic and tactical programs to grow their top line. Drawing on Ed Marsh's extensive industrial manufacturing background he works with a number of capital equipment manufacturers to assist them with revenue growth by creating the same sort of rigorous data driven approach to sales & marketing that they employ with great success in their manufacturing operations. As a HubSpot partner and industrial marketing expert, engagements often start with a digital marketing focus to align the sales activities with buyer expectations. Often as global leads are generated in parallel with domestic opportunities, Ed assists in localizing and expanding international efforts. And later, as revenue growth stabilizes, work often expands into management strategy, account based marketing, trade show engagement and account management.
"I'm delighted to have this opportunity to add my voice to the important discussion about the importance of U.S. exports." said Ed Marsh, Founder of Consilium and an export consultant. "They've been the focus of many of my professional successes and I've seen clients realize amazing growth - achieving diversification, receiving compelling tax benefits, learning key lessons that strengthen their core business and contributing to communities by creating more jobs; all while they growth their bottom lines."
A former Army Infantry officer and current commander of VFW Post 1093, Ed is also an advocate for veterans as export leaders. He collaborates with the Department of Commerce's VetsGoGlobal initiative.
In 1961, President Kennedy signed an executive order reviving the World War II "E" symbol of excellence to honor and provide recognition to America's exporters. Today, Secretary Pritzker honored 123 U.S. companies with the President's "E" Award for their outstanding work to reduce barriers to foreign trade and to open the door to more trade around the world.
In 2015, U.S. exports totaled $2.23 trillion, accounting for nearly 13% of U.S. GDP. Nationally, exports contributed to the U.S. economy, supporting an estimated 11.5 million jobs.
Companies are nominated for the "E" Awards through the Department of Commerce's U.S. Commercial Service office network, located within the Department's International Trade Administration, with offices in 108 U.S. cities and more than 70 countries. Criteria for the award are based on four years of successive export growth and case studies which demonstrate valuable support to exporters resulting in increased exports for the company's clients.
